Get to Know the Famous Protein Diet

The Protein Diet is quite simple, as it is divided into three phases:

Phase 1: Lasts for two weeks (14 days) and limits calorie intake to 1,000 calories.

Phase 2: This phase extends for five weeks and allows for 1,100 to 1,500 calories.

Phase 3: In this final phase, all foods are permitted but should be consumed in moderation.

Now, let’s talk about strictly forbidden foods. These items will hinder the progress of your Protein Diet due to their high carbohydrate content and must be avoided at all costs by those striving for a perfect summer body:

FORBIDDEN FOODS:

  • CEREALS: bread, rice, pasta, wheat, flour, corn, raisins.
  • LEGUMES: beans, chickpeas, lentils, peas.
  • FRUITS (those with more than 10% carbohydrate content): grapes, figs, plums, coconuts, quinces, loquats, dates, tamarinds, persimmons.
  • TUBERS: regular potatoes, beets, cassava.
  • FORBIDDEN BEVERAGES: sodas, wine, whisky, beer, coconut water, tonic water, and boxed juices.
  • OTHERS: meatballs, kibbeh, biscuits, honey, molasses, royal jelly, cornstarch, cakes, puddings, chocolate drinks. Also, avoid canned foods due to preservatives: sausages, sago, chicken coxinha, pies, ketchup, etc.
